Chaos in Heaven

chaotic-memories

She was an angel craving chaos.

Her voluminous plume having grown heavy

She sought to shed the burden of a few perfect feathers.

Fleeing into the night she dropped

Fiery crumbs across the sky.

Chasing the trail he gathers up the embers

Against the skin of his back;

He was a demon seeking peace

In the singe of heaven’s falling star.

Met in the midst of their agony

They quickly felt at home,

Drowning. He cut ties.

Finding solace in the lack of ever after.

She sings him a lullaby every night,

Forgetting that she’s buried him a long time ago.

His gift to her, the pain of heartache,

The chaos she had been seeking.
